Rich in tradition and diversity, Styria can be called Austria´s green hart. Medieval market towns, alpine forests, honey-yellow fields and the famous vineyards: a little bit of Italy´s Tuscany hides in it ! Architecture, nature and man forming a harmonious whole in this rural Austria. In Styria you´ll find the grass a little bit greener...

Day 1

After meeting in Graz at 3:00 pm we make an afternoon exploration of this town (1 night). In the middle of one of Europe´s best Renaissance centers with medieval arcaded passageways, baroque churches, historic streets - beautifully restored and preserved, you´ll start this exciting journey.

Days 2-3

Entering "apple country" we follow trails past farmhouses and hillsides with apple orchards. A local guide will explain the procedure for producing apple brandy.

You visit Hartberg, a historic little town, before you´ll return to your Renaissance castle hotel in Sebersdorf
(2 nights).

Days 4-5

The Riegersburg Castle, mighty and well-restored, stands some 600 feet above the valley below. A guided tour leds you through this impressive fortress, never been humbled in battle. Not far away is the point where Hungary, Slovenia and Austria meet - to be seen from a magnificent point of view.

You´ll visit Bad Radkersburg (2 nights), surrounded by meadows with storks and rare flowers. We have time to relax and perhaps a dip into the thermal waters.

Days 6-7

If you like wine, this is a must: footpaths leading through vineyards to views of the landscape and valleys below. A wine grower welcomes you for lunch - before you come to Deutschlandsberg (2 nights) in the center of the unique Schilcher wine country.

During the following day you can watch the production of the region´s famous pumpkin-seed-oil and learn about some of the local products before dinner in a typical Styrian restaurant.
